Debut in Tokyo • Empowering Japan | TWS Technology ESS Targets 2MW/8MWh Market at Smart Energy Week 2026
16/04/2026

From March 17-19, Smart Energy Week 2026 Spring opened grandly at the Tokyo Big Sight International Exhibition Center. TWS Technology made a major appearance with its flagship products—the PowerMod liquid-cooling energy storage container, along with the Max series and Arkpax series outdoor portable power stations—building a comprehensive energy storage solution matrix covering multiple scenarios.Leveraging 15 years of deep cultivation in the Japanese market and localized service experience, TWS Technology precisely targets the 2MW/8MWh market mainstream solutions. We break through grid connection bottlenecks with hardcore product power and complete the project delivery loop with local service capabilities, steadily positioning ourselves at the core of Japan's energy storage track.

Policy support | Dividends released, storage track heats up

Japanese policy dividends continue to be released: the 7th Strategic Energy Plan aims for renewables to account for 45% of the energy mix by 2040. The GX Promotion Strategy lists energy storage as a key emerging industry, providing 20 trillion JPY in financial support over the next decade.

Simultaneously, the Long-term Decarbonization Auction (LTDA) brings up to 20 years of stable income protection for energy storage projects. Policy orientation clearly points toward long-duration energy storage and grid-side deployment. Driven by these incentives and the need for grid stability, storage systems represented by 2MW/8MWh have become the "golden configuration" in Japan. This mainstream solution precisely meets the technical thresholds of LTDA auctions, satisfies grid frequency regulation and spot arbitrage needs, and is widely used in grid-side, renewable energy consumption, and C&I scenarios.

Product breakthrough | Hardcore strength responding to market demands

The TWS Technology PowerMod liquid-cooling energy storage container became the focus of the exhibition due to its multi-scenario adaptability. The product supports flexible combinations of 4-6 clusters, with capacities covering 1677kWh-2515kWh, expandable as needed to match project requirements of different scales from 2MW to 8MWh.

· Performance: The product reaches C4/C5 corrosion resistance levels, operating stably in a wide temperature range of -20°C to 55°C and high altitudes of 4000m. Equipped with a four-fold fire suppression system and liquid-cooling thermal management, it eliminates thermal runaway risks and meets Japan’s stringent safety standards.

· Compliance: Adapted to Japanese grid connection and safety regulations, it builds a solid foundation for rapid project implementation. It features Modbus TCP protocols, meeting the seamless connection requirements of local Japanese grid dispatch and EMS smart monitoring systems for panoramic monitoring and fast response.

· Transportation: The deadweight design of the PowerMod liquid-cooling energy storage container complies with Japanese road load requirements, making cross-regional transportation and on-site deployment efficient and unobstructed. Currently, this product not only empowers the Japanese market but also penetrates key global markets such as Europe and Africa.

Project foundation | Multi-scenario success and localized experience

TWS Technology has achieved multi-scenario project landings in the Japanese market, verifying product reliability through practical application and building mature experience for future expansion:

TWS Technology is precisely aiming at this "window period" of the Japanese market—matching local grid scenarios with customized storage solutions and ensuring efficient project implementation with a full-cycle service system. The company's core products have obtained dual reports for battery thermal runaway and fire resistance performance, deeply aligning with Japanese fire access regulations.

Driven by the twin engines of product power and service capability, the company will continue to deepen its local distributor network layout and strengthen channel partner empowerment. With high-quality energy storage products and professional solutions, we aim to assist regional energy transformation and grid upgrades, building a safer, more efficient, and low-carbon new energy system for East Asia.
