TWS Energy Storage Project Case Series 10|Hong Kong 315 kW/ 645 kWh Mobile One-stop Intelligent ESS and Supercharging Station, Assisting Green Transportation
11/03/2025

With the growing global attention on environmental protection and sustainable development, Hong Kong is also actively promoting the popularization of new energy vehicles, with their ownership increasing year by year. However, the rapid development of electric vehicles has led to a surge in charging demand, creating a conflict with local power supply—challenging charging resources, strained power grids, and alarmingly rising carbon emissions. How to break this situation?

In February 2025, TWS Technology had deployed a mobile one-stop intelligent energy storage supercharging station with a power and capacity of 315 kW/645 kWh for charging station operator in Hong Kong. The super charging station is composed of one 20-foot container, three MU-P10 liquid-cooling storage cabinets self-developed by TWS, a 360kW charging pile system composed of a 360kW charging stack, an air-cooled dual-gun terminal and two sets of air and liquid-cooled dual-gun terminals, and a grid-connected power distribution cabinet. Adopting a modular design and flexible deployment, the intelligent energy storage system perfectly solves the dilemma of insufficient capacity of installed transformers and the difficulty in adding new ones, providing ample and stable power support, injecting green power into the city.

The ESS product using in this super charging station is the TWS MU-P10 outdoor C&I liquid-cooling ESS integrated cabinet, with a power and capacity of 105 kW/215 kWh. It is equipped with a built-in PCS to achieve AC-DC integration, saving floor space, greatly simplifying on-site installation and commissioning, reducing after-sales maintenance, and improving project safety, efficiency, and economy. The MU-P10 cabinet boasts four major advantages: cost-effectiveness and high efficiency, plug -and-play functionality, safety and reliability, and intelligent friendliness. It is designed with zero parallel battery packs, eliminating circulating currents. Using optimal fitting control, the system efficiency exceeds 90%. Its integrated design allows for plug-and-play functionality, and its single-cabinet autonomous control supports multi-unit parallel connection. The cabinet features a cell-level fire-prevention partition in the battery PACK, along with active safety monitoring and fire-fighting functions. It can be connected to the cloud platform for remote monitoring and upgrading as well. The MU-P10 cabinet supports supercharging technology, thereby improving charging efficiency. Its intelligent scheduling mechanic automatically allocates power, thus ending queuing and waiting and enhancing the charging experience for drivers while boosting operational efficiency for station owners.

This advanced intelligent energy storage charging station adopts an intelligent energy storage mode of "storing energy during off-peak hours and supplying power during peak hours". The 645-kWh energy storage system functions as a "power dispatcher" for the charging station. It can not only provide fast charging services for 6 new energy vehicles simultaneously, with a maximum power of up to 120kW and typically requiring only about 15 minutes to fully charge a vehicle, but also delivers three significant social benefits. Firstly, it effectively alleviates the pressure of the peak-valley differences on the power grid. Secondly, it reduces the charging costs for users. And more importantly, it can help reduce carbon emissions by more than 150 tons per year.

The mobile one-stop intelligent energy storage supercharging station designed and implemented by TWS Technology not only solves the problem of inconvenient charging for new energy vehicles, brings convenience to vehicle owners, improves the operation efficiency and economic benefits for station owners, but also promotes green transportation in Hong Kong, reduces carbon emissions, and makes the city more environmentally friendly. This is an innovative practice of the customer in the construction of new-type charging stations, and an important infrastructure for both parties to contribute to the "dual carbon" goal. In the future, TWS Technology will continue to deeply cultivate the field of green and intelligent energy, strengthen cooperation with industry partners, actively expand new energy application fields, and jointly build a sustainable, highly efficient, and green future city and global ecosystem.
